🏗️ Building Big Ideas: Complex Sentences in Telugu

Imagine building with LEGO blocks. Simple sentences are like single blocks. But what if you want to build a castle? You need to CONNECT blocks together! That’s exactly what complex sentences do in Telugu!

🎯 What Are Complex Sentences?

Think of your brain as a super storyteller. Sometimes you want to say two things at once, like:

  • “I want ice cream AND cake!”
  • “I’ll go outside IF it stops raining.”
  • WOW, what a beautiful sunset!”

These are complex sentences. They connect ideas, show conditions, and express strong feelings!

1️⃣ Coordinating Conjunctions (మరియు, లేదా, కానీ)

What’s This?

Imagine you have two toys of equal size. You put them side by side with a bridge between them. That bridge is a coordinating conjunction!

It connects two equal ideas.

లేదా (lēdā) OR Giving choices
కానీ (kānī) BUT Showing contrast

🍎 AND (మరియు)

నేను apple తింటాను మరియు banana తింటాను (Nēnu apple tintānu mariyu banana tintānu) I eat apple AND I eat banana

Think: You’re packing a lunchbox with BOTH fruits!

🎮 OR (లేదా)

నువ్వు cricket ఆడతావా లేదా football ఆడతావా? (Nuvvu cricket āḍatāvā lēdā football āḍatāvā?) Will you play cricket OR football?

BUT (కానీ)

నేను tired, కానీ homework చేస్తాను (Nēnu tired, kānī homework cēstānu) I am tired, BUT I will do homework

Think: Two opposite feelings fighting… homework WINS!

2️⃣ Subordinating Conjunctions (ఎందుకంటే, అయినప్పటికీ)

What’s This?

Now imagine a big toy and a small toy. The small toy depends on the big toy to work. That’s subordinating!

One idea is the BOSS (main). The other is the helper (subordinate).

Think: You’re a DETECTIVE explaining WHY you did something!

💪 ALTHOUGH (అయినప్పటికీ)

వర్షం వస్తున్నప్పటికీ, నేను school కి వెళ్ళాను (Varsham vastunnappaṭikī, nēnu school ki veḷḷānu) ALTHOUGH rain was coming, I went to school

3️⃣ Compound Sentences (రెండు పూర్తి ఆలోచనలు)

Compound sentences are like twins! Two complete sentences holding hands.

Both sentences can stand ALONE, but they CHOOSE to be together!

4️⃣ Conditional Sentences (అయితే, తే)
