Imagine your body is a magical castle. Each room (body part) has a special name. Sometimes the castle gets a cold (illness), and you need a wise wizard (doctor) to help. And just like a castle feels hot in summer or cold in winter, your body has feelings too!

This means “I have pain in…” - use it for EVERYTHING!

Formula: J’ai mal + à + le/la/les + body part

Your body tells you things - hot, cold, hungry, tired. Let’s learn to express these feelings!

⚠️ Careful! In French, you “HAVE” hot or cold, you don’t “ARE” hot or cold!

  • Je suis chaud = I am sexy (oops!)
  • J’ai chaud = I feel hot

Notice the pattern? In French, many physical sensations use “J’AI” (I have):
